Skip Ahead App Reviews

This is a must have if you listen to podcasts or audio books on the iPhone. The standard iPod has the back 30 seconds function but this app gives you the ability to go back 10 seconds and also forward 30 seconds. Makes skipping ahead much easier than the audio scrubbing. The only difficult thing about the app is that you need to start what you are listening to in the iPod and then close it down and open Skid Ahead and if you need to change what you are listening too you need to close and re-open again. I dont know if this can be avioded and it does not ruin the functionality of the app.

Now I can drive without crashing.

I LOVE this app. So simple and easy to use and does exactly what Ive been looking for. Flick Tunes is nice but skipping ahead is a big "hit and miss". And when you miss, it takes lots of taps to get back to your podcast. Thank you for Skip Ahead!

This app is very useful. It allows me to easily skip through adverts on podcasts with a simple tap of the screen. Great when Im driving to work. Definitely worth $0.99.

Very nice! Ive been waiting for this. Now add forward gesture for 30 seconds and a back gesture for 10 seconds reverse but do not lose the tap option. Let us decide which and when to use it. Oh, and what does the "enable iPod player" toggle in the Settings app do?

Glad I got this app for free. First off the music interface is very glitchy and needs to be fixed. I suggest adding large next and previous buttons. Artwork doesnt change when music goes too the next song. Keep up the good work so far. Like the overall idea.

A lot of podcasts dont strip all their commercials. The 30 second skip works great. Adding a play and pause button is also a great feature.

Not what I expected. You have to back out of whatever your listening to, and then fire up this app in order to skip forward. Just want something that is allways available while using the built in player.

In general settings you can set up the double click home to go directly to the iPod. Voilà! So to that last review who says it takes 31 seconds - youre wrong.

I LOVE being able to skip thru commercials on radio programs Ive recorded or on podcasts.

Lifesaver for skipping around podcasts while driving. Start iPod music then open this and leave it open. Great as is but would be even better if the play pause button were bigger to make it easier to tap while driving (that would be especially handy in drive thrus and toll booths)

I love the new touch controls! I have used this app for probably a year, couldnt live without it.

I really like the addition of swiping and the bigger play/pause button. This is still my favorite audiobook/podcast app. Two enhancements thatd be great for 2.0+ would be a sleep-mode defeat option and a progress bar with elapsed and/or remaining time. Keep up the good work!

This has been great for podcasts and audiobooks when you need to skip easily past boring parts, intros, and etc...

This is a very useful app. and could become my favorite if the developer would make the artwork function as a play/pause button. The current button is so small that it takes me multiple attempts to hit it, and when Im driving it makes it unusable. An option to swipe up or down for Play/Pause would also be great. It also mentions a timeline in the product description - there is only a time counter that doesnt tell you how far you are in the podcast. Maybe add two counters if a timeline is hard to add. One for total time and one for time played or even better the time left. It would also be nice to be able to change the skip time in the options. It also could use a bit of polish. Sec. on the top has a period, sec on the bottom Back button does not. The top button would be better labeled as "Forward 30 sec." because the word Skip applies to forward or back. If you fix the play/pause issue then I will change my review to 5 stars because this is an enormously useful app with one crippling flaw and a few missing features. I also wanted to mention that if you made a "Skip Ahead Plus" app that was able to change the behavior of the Bluetooth skip button to skip in seconds rather than an entire podcast Id gladly pay $20 for that. Thanks.

Nice app. Very convenient simple features. The one feature I would add is to be able to pull up the app from the lock screen rather having to unlock every time I want to skip ahead.

This does not work reliably with video podcasts. Please fix this as its mine (and many others) main use. Often, when you switch tasks to this app, the app fails to open the podcast you were listening to! PLEASE consider giving this app the ability to select media!

I see that the developer has not tried to satisfy the requests and concerns of the app owners. Thats why it gets mediocre ratings. I want to skip 60 seconds at a time! Some of the shows I listen to have 5 or 6 minutes of news and commercials. Thats 12 presses of the button! The best improvement for this app would be for us to be able to set the amount of time to skip. Or have 2 buttons...1 for 30 sec, 1 for 60. Even better...have 2 buttons...one for a custom set amount of time, and one for 30 seconds.

Great app: skip through commercials and articles youve heard already. Would be perfect if the play/pause butten was bigger.
